Terms of service
A US-English prelaunch draft covering the Texel Forge website, Evaluation Mode, downloads, updates, and export licenses.
Draft - owner and legal review required before public sales
Prelaunch notice. These terms are a working draft for private testing. Before public sales open, the product owner must have them reviewed for the operating business and applicable law, add the legal name and contact details of the seller and licensor, select the governing law and dispute venue, and publish an approved effective date. This draft is not a substitute for that review.
1. Scope and acceptance
These draft terms apply to the Texel Forge website, downloads, desktop application, updates, and export licenses made available under the Texel Forge name. By accessing the prelaunch site or using a test build, you agree to follow these terms and any additional terms shown during download or checkout. If you do not agree, do not use the site or application.
2. Evaluation Mode
Evaluation Mode has no time limit. It allows import, color baking, topology repair, model composition, image-to-model tools, and preview in the four public workspaces without activation. Exporting requires a paid license.
3. Planned export license catalog
Personal Use is planned at $30 USD as a one-time purchase. It permits personal, noncommercial work, unlocks export in all four workspaces on one activated device, grants a lifetime license for the purchased version, and includes one year of updates.
Commercial Makers is planned at $99 USD per year. Commercial Professional is planned at $199 USD per year. Each unlocks export for personal and commercial work on up to two activated devices and includes one year of updates.
Education licensing will be handled through direct contact. A one-year update extension is planned at $15 USD. The final eligibility difference between the two commercial tiers and the eligibility and fulfillment rules for the update extension must be published before checkout opens. Applicable taxes may be added at checkout.
4. License use and restrictions
A paid plan grants the purchaser a limited right to use Texel Forge and its export capability within the plan's stated use and device limits. Unless the final approved terms expressly allow it, you may not resell or share a license key, make the application available as a competing hosted service, bypass the export license check, or use the application or website to violate law or another person's intellectual-property or privacy rights. Rights that cannot lawfully be restricted remain unaffected.
5. Your models, artwork, and output
You remain responsible for the models, images, documents, decals, and other material you import, and for the output you create. You must have the rights and permissions needed to use, modify, print, distribute, or sell that material and output. Texel Forge does not claim ownership of your source files or generated project output merely because you process them in the application.
6. Purchases, renewals, and refunds
Lemon Squeezy is the merchant of record for paid licenses and provides checkout, tax calculation, receipts, license-key delivery, order access, and subscription management. Checkout-specific payment, renewal, cancellation, and refund terms are presented during purchase. Keep your receipt and use Lemon Squeezy My Orders to retrieve your order, license key, and available downloads.
7. Activation and device management
Each activated device uses one plan slot. Texel Forge must retain the exact Lemon Squeezy activation instance to validate or deactivate that device. Deactivate a computer before retiring it or removing its local licensing data. If the saved instance is lost first, the product owner may need to resolve the stranded activation through Lemon Squeezy.
Paid licenses are normally revalidated while online. A temporary network problem may use the last valid entitlement for the application's permitted offline period, never beyond any applicable license expiration date. An expired, disabled, invalid, deactivated, or offline-expired license returns the application to Evaluation Mode and locks only export.
8. Downloads and updates
Use an official Texel Forge Windows installer obtained through the Downloads page, choose the installer that matches your supported processor architecture, and retain the legal notices supplied with the application. Installed builds may check for updates and ask before downloading one. Back up important project files before installing or updating software.
9. Availability and changes
The prelaunch website, store, downloads, and application may be changed, interrupted, or withdrawn while testing continues. Material changes to pricing, license rights, or these terms should be presented before they apply to a new purchase. The final terms must explain how changes affect existing purchasers and subscriptions.
10. Disclaimers
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the prelaunch site and test software are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of uninterrupted operation, error-free output, fitness for a particular purpose, or compatibility with every model, printer, slicer, file, or workflow. Nothing in these terms excludes a warranty or consumer right that cannot lawfully be excluded.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the seller and licensor will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or business opportunity arising from the prelaunch site, test software, or their use. The final approved terms must state any enforceable aggregate liability cap and any exceptions required by law.
12. Suspension and termination
Access may be suspended or terminated for material misuse, unlawful activity, payment reversal, or violation of the final approved terms. Expiration or termination of a paid license does not prevent the application from opening in Evaluation Mode; it locks only export. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination, including ownership, disclaimers, and liability limits, may continue to apply.
13. Governing law and disputes
The governing law, dispute process, and venue have not yet been approved. The product owner must complete this section with qualified legal review before publishing these terms or accepting public sales.
14. Contact
The final terms must identify the seller and licensor and provide a verified public contact for legal notices and support. Until that information is approved, the Texel Forge Help Center provides product and order guidance only.
